Structured like a real school , it provides for a program of courses articulated and precise, with a theoretical part , consisting of lectures on the history of gladiators , and a practical part with the participation of two lessons per week, usually on Mondays and Wednesday evening, lasting two hours, during which, after a first part of physical preparation, we train movements and positions, both attack and defense, to be held during the fighting. The use of arms follows a progressive path. In the case of the sword begins first with the wooden handle, rudis , then move on to the iron sword. Then we learn the use of  shield, network and trident. Every six months up to one year , there is a test for passing level, and one of the conditions necessary to access i,t is the constant presence in the courses. Once enrolled in the course, the student is subjected to a short trial period ranging from two to four weeks, during which it is evaluated the suitability of the continuation in the course of preparation for gladiatura, which requires a big commitment both physical and mental health. Once this phase begins the real course, aimed at achieving the various levels of the school, and finally the various classes of gladiators. In order to distinguish the layers is given them the name of the animal , and the achievement of each of them, after the test, a certificate is issued .
As already mentioned, the student, who at this point assumes the name of Tyre, was initially trained in the use of rudis and positions, both of his legs and body, to be taken in attack or defense during the fighting. Are taught the six main movements and their combination in four forms to be executed in sequence , in addition to theoretical knowledge of the techniques of gladiatorial combat. At the end of this period of training our shot making the oath, the sacramentum gladiatorum, and joined in all, the impact of the ludus (the school itself). At the end of the oath, during which the student is evaluated based on the performance of free forms learned in the previous months and in a fight with the only wooden sword, the novice receives the degree of Anguis. In the next level of Anguis is gradually introduced the use of the shield and helmet, and if the instructor, Magister, deems it appropriate, the transition to the use of the sword in iron, the sword. Finished this training period, the student will be ready for the next level, that of Equus. After the usual essay, where he must demonstrate that they have learned how to fight with a sword, sword or rudis that is, the shield and the helmet. At this point of course he will be ready to tackle even the first gladiators fighting with each other. The next preparation, which involves passing the levels of Lupus, Leo and Aquila, is based on the use and the input sequence in the training of the use of the double sword, tall guards for the arms ( sleeves of iron) and low leg ( shin guards ) of the curved sword, sica, the spear, the network and the trident. Reached the highest level in the school, denominatoAquila, you can specialize in different types of gladiators: retiarius , mirmillone, secutor, trace, oplomaco, dimachero and Amazon .
At this point you can get the degree of Doctor, the achievement of which, however, is much more difficult than the others because the exam is taken fighting with the other Doctor already present in the school.
